Center for Economic and Community Development (CECD)
The Center for Economic and Community Development (CECD) provides a focal point for addressing rural economic and community development issues in Pennsylvania by furthering the development of programs; providing citizens, government officials, students, and others a point of contact with faculty to identify and carry out projects in rural economic and community development; and to foster inter-disciplinary communication and collaboration among faculty and others engaged in rural and community development. Faculty from Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology as well as faculty and extension staff from throughout the Penn State University system are associates of the Center. The CECD is administered in the Department.
