Research Interests
My research program focuses on international development, institutional change and planning. I comparatively examine differentiated planning models and economic development at the sub-national scale, the economic restructuring and regulation of global commodity chains, and the political economy of development. My current research projects include 1) Colombian and Dutch cut flower agro-industry commodity chain restructuring, and 2) the impact of non-traditional agricultural export (NTAEs) crops on food security at the sub-national scale.
