Research Interests
I conduct applied research on the design of domestic and international policies for agriculture and natural resources. My aim is to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of these policies and to generate policy recommendations. Recent projects have focused on analyzing domestic support policies and their conformity with international (WTO) commitments, the design of agri-environmental programs, and the evaluation of rural development policies.
Outreach/Extension Interests
I do not have a formal extension appointment, but I am often asked to make presentations on domestic and international policy issues affecting agriculture in Pennsylvania and at various other domestic and international locations. My work has been used by several international organizations, including the FAO, OECD and World Bank.
