Research Interests

My research interests involve environmental and economic policy measures that affect agricultural enterprises at the national and international level.  Recent work includes research on youth employment, a behavioral theory of law and regulatory compliance that can guide design of law and regulation, the impact of federal estate taxes on landowner attitudes and actions and the design and implementation of effective regulatory measures.

 

Outreach/Extension Interests

My extension/outreach interests lie in farm and small business succession planning, land use planning at the community and state level, agricultural interactions at the community level, state and federal laws that apply to farm labor and environmental regulations that apply to farm and small business enterprises.

“Promoting Agricultural Development Through Land Use Planning Limits”, Vol. 36(4),  620-671 (2002) Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal of the American Bar Association, Chicago, IL was selected and included in the 2003 Zoning and Planning Law Handbook published by West Group to provide lawyers and planners with practical and insightful analysis of  issues related to developments and trends in zoning and land use law.
