Research Interests
My research focuses on Mexican migrants and their children in the United States, including processes of migration, settlement and socioeconomic incorporation. I am currently working on projects that assess why Mexican migrants have increasingly settled in places outside traditional destination areas in the Southwest and Chicago, patterns of household formation and child poverty, and the implications of parental legalization and naturalization for the educational attainment of the children of Mexican migrants.
