Research Interests

I conduct applied research on a variety of economic development issues in Pennsylvania, including taxation and tax reform, fiscal impacts of land use change, economic impact of Marcellus Shale development, and local government.

Outreach/Extension Interests

My extension teaching program involves a broad focus on Marcellus Shale, including the economic and community impacts of natural gas development; the fiscal impacts of land use change; local tax reform; and a variety of community process skills, such as facilitation, strategic planning, and leadership.
